What’s Inside, What’s Out // China’s economic recovery is hampered by weak demand

Business activity in China’s manufacturing sector continues to decline, the country’s National Bureau of Statistics said yesterday. Although the values of some of the leading indicators turned out to be slightly better than analysts’ forecasts, a faster recovery of the Chinese economy is not expected. In fact, the Chinese authorities have to solve two problems at the same time – to revive domestic demand and work on restoring external demand, which is complicated by the tightening of the monetary policy of world central banks, as well as the restrictive measures of the United States.
