Of all the premieres of this year, we have selected ten of the most interesting. Continuations of sensational franchises, new projects of great directors, and, of course, where without movies based on comics. We tell you which movie premieres you should pay special attention to.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania (February)

The first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year. Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) fights the new main villain Kang. If in past Marvel films evil was personified by the purple titan Thanos, in the new films the already updated line-up of the Avengers will fight against Kang. And all the films that will be released in the next few years will lead us to this confrontation.

“65” (March)

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are the duo that brought The Quiet Place, one of the best horror films of recent years, to the audience. In the new movie 65, an astronaut (Adam Driver) ends up on a habitable planet after a crash. The planet exactly repeats the prehistoric earth, namely 65 million years ago. Sci-fi action game about survival and finding your way home.

“Guardians of the Galaxy. Part 3” (May)

Perhaps one of the best franchises within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the story of a team of misfits who save the universes over and over again. Director James Gunn, now in charge of Marvel rival DC’s main studio, has yet to finish his latest film. Definitely worth waiting for a great soundtrack, comedy and a good cast.

Spider-Man: Web of Universes (June)

Continuation of the most notable cartoon of recent years. The animation of the first part received a lot of praise, and the film itself even won an Oscar in 2019. This time we are waiting for the continuation of the story of Miles Morales (the new Spider-Man), as well as other heroes who are united by a connection with arachnids.

“Indiana Jones and the Clock of Doom” (June)

We didn’t wait, but it happened. In 2023, a new part of the adventures of the coolest archaeologist with a hat and a whip will be released on the screens – we are, of course, talking about Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford, 80, is back as Jones in a direct sequel to 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Ford will be joined in the new film by Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and others.

“Mission Impossible: Deadly Reckoning. Part 1” (July)

Tom Cruise and Ethan Hunt are inseparable. Still – the actor has been playing the role of a first-class agent for 27 years! Not much is known about the new part, however, for her, 60-year-old Tom Cruise jumped a motorcycle off a cliff (thankfully, with a parachute).

Oppenheimer (July)

Perhaps one of the most anticipated films of 2023. A biopic by Christopher Nolan about the “father” of the atomic bomb, Robert Oppenheimer. The title role is played by Irishman Cillian Murphy, Nolan’s longtime favorite. In the new film, Nolan was also played by Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon and others. Those who know Nolan’s style should look forward to impressive effects and an alternative view of physics (and most likely time).

“Barbie” (July)

The main plot of the film is based on the fact that the most popular Barbie doll in the world (Margot Robbie) was kicked out of Barbieland, after which she went to get acquainted with the world familiar to us. The role of the eternal companion, Ken, was played by Ryan Gosling. In terms of actors, this film is an example, as they say in the industry, of a dreamcast. That is, the ideal selection of actors for their roles.

“Dune: Part 2” (November)

The first film was not liked by many fans of the original source – the main complaint was the huge number of cut storylines. However, the first film was a trial: the viewer got acquainted with the universe and its laws. Now the heroes of Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet can explore their own story arcs, and we can dive deeper into the world of Dune.

“Wonka” (December)

Another tape with Timothée Chalamet in the title role. This time the actor will play the role of Willy Wonka – we will see the story of the formation of the legendary chocolatier and his acquaintance with the Oompa-Loompas. In addition to Chalamet, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman and others will also play in the film. Directed by Paul King, who gave us the incredibly successful Paddington Bear movies.
