What happened in the Belgorod region on the weekend of June 3-4

The Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, has been subjected to shelling by the Ukrainian military since the beginning of hostilities. In recent days, shelling has become more frequent. Vedomosti has collected the latest data from the authorities on what happened in the region over the weekend.

Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his latest strike report for June 3 informedthat Belgorodsky, Volokonovsky, Graivoronsky and Krasnoyaruzhsky districts, as well as Valuysky and Shebekinsky urban districts, were attacked yesterday.

In Belgorod, the air defense system worked, fragments fell in the area of ​​​​the industrial zone, no one was injured. The main blow again fell on the Shebekinsky district, from where earlier the authorities began to evacuate children. The summary of this territory of the border region is the most voluminous in Gladkov’s report. So, on June 3, 519 units of various ammunition were fired in the district. As a result died two women – in Novaya Tavolzhanka and Bezlyudovka. Two more people were injured, a man was taken to the hospital with shrapnel wounds to the chest, arms and legs, and a woman was wounded in the shoulder. Another attack caused damage to administrative and commercial facilities, and the number of destroyed and damaged houses and cars is being specified, Gladkov added.

Cannon artillery and mortar shelling of the village of Murom did not stop, the authorities counted 52 cases on June 3. Gladkov reported significant damage in the administrative building, school, kindergarten, FAP. In addition, over the previous day there were 102 arrivals in Novaya Tavolzhanka, the village was also fired from artillery and mortars, 60 private households were damaged.

Today, June 4, the region continues to be shelled, but no deaths or injuries have been reported yet. Ukraine attacked the center of Shebekino, which is why in the market area happened fire. The Armed Forces of Ukraine again hit the village of Murom and hit a private house, the owners of which had previously left the village. In Novaya Tavolzhanka, shells damaged the roof of a four-story house, where no one lives either. Prior to this, Gladkov reported on the operation of the air defense system in Belgorod, the consequences are being specified.

According to the latest data from the Belgorod authorities, there are now more than 4,000 people in temporary accommodation centers.
