Weapons from Ukraine fall into the hands of criminal groups in Europe

Weapons exported from Ukraine were found in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. Commissioner Christer Ahlgren from the Central Criminal Police reported this to the Finnish national broadcaster Yleisradio Oy (Yle).
According to the commissioner who heads the department for combating organized crime, there is evidence of assault rifles brought to Finland from Ukraine. The collection of operational data continues, therefore law enforcement agencies do not disclose detailed information.
According to available information, criminal groups are showing great interest in weapons. They are considering, according to the commissioner, the possibility of organizing smuggling.
Algren nevertheless revealed some details: three of the world’s largest motorcycle gangs operate in Finland. One of them – Bandidos MC – has, according to the police, “branches” in every major city in Ukraine. Thus, there are all conditions for organizing smuggling: proven routes and established connections. The Finnish police know and are ready to take action if necessary.
The European police warned in the summer that weapons exported from Ukraine could fall into the hands of criminal groups. Europol’s information noted that we are talking about both individual copies that refugees can bring with them, and caches in the border areas in which entire batches of weapons can be hidden.
