“We burn one by one”: Dandykin told how many Patriot complexes Russia destroyed in Ukraine

“They did a lot of harm to us”

Ukraine is losing American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems one after another. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, our military managed to hit a Patriot air defense system at a firing position in the Kharkov region. Earlier, on March 9, an Iskander-M missile strike near Pokrovsk in the DPR, along with the S-300, destroyed two more Patriot launchers. We talked about the emerging trend when our missilemen manage to “hook such a big fish” with a military expert, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin.

“The Patriot air defense system battery is about 8 launchers, a command post, radar, power supply station, communications station,” says Vasily Dandykin. – Essentially, this is like our division. We are now using high-explosive bombs FAB-500 – FAB-1500 with a planning and correction module, which fly to a range of 40-50 kilometers. The same “one and a half ton”, for example, penetrates several meters of reinforced concrete shelters. In order to counteract our aviation and cover their troops, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to pull these scarce Western systems closer to the line of combat.

The expert recalls that the range of the Patriot air defense system is about 120 kilometers.

“These complexes did a lot of harm to us when they were used for ambushes.” Now we “click” the Patriot SAMs one by one. This suggests that space reconnaissance, reconnaissance drones, and an intelligence network on the ground are working well. We won’t know the details of where the information comes from for a very, very long time.

Also, importantly, the time from the moment the target is detected to the strike on it has been reduced.

“The fact that we manage to burn one scarce Patriot air defense system after another hurts its reputation. Because this is, in fact, the only NATO long-range air defense complex, the rest are medium-range. We have now destroyed one fifth, if not more, of the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine.

As the expert says, the United States may now demand that the Ukrainian Armed Forces move these complexes away from the front line.

— And this is freedom for our army, front-line aviation. The ability to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds with FABs and support our assault units. It will be easier for the guys to move forward, there will be fewer losses. The attack is on both the Patriot and the S-300, Buki, NASAMS (mobile Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system) of the enemy. Air supremacy is the main sign of Victory.

Meanwhile, Kyiv is in complete chaos. Adviser to the Czech Prime Minister on national security issues, Tomas Pojar, said that the first deliveries of artillery shells, which were purchased by the countries of the European Union, may appear in Ukraine only in June. While previously a period of several weeks was mentioned.

— It’s not so easy to collect and purchase them. Where are they now not looking for ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces? It’s not so easy to bring them to Ukraine. Deliveries are being hit, including by rail. We see that trains with weapons are being derailed. Much of what happens is not included in official reports. There are facts and events that are not advertised.
