Washington Post: The West is frightened by the absence of an analogue of Russian missiles “Dagger”

The use of hypersonic Kinzhal missiles by the Russian army during the NMD frightened Washington and its allies due to the lack of analogues of these weapons in the West. Such a statement was made in an article for the Washington Post by columnists Robin Dixon and David Stern.
According to them, the use of “Daggers” “increased anxiety in the United States and demonstrated that Russia has a nuclear-capable weapon that is difficult to intercept.”
These missiles, as reported, are guaranteed to overcome all existing air defense and missile defense systems and are capable of delivering nuclear warheads at a distance of up to 2000 kilometers. MiG-31K fighter-interceptors are equipped with “daggers”.
WP journalists noted that the use of such weapons in Ukraine increases pressure on Washington, since the United States has not yet developed its own missiles with similar characteristics, which makes the West even more vulnerable.
As the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported, this week a massive missile attack was carried out on the military infrastructure of Ukraine, including with the use of “Daggers”. It was a retaliatory strike in response to the terrorist act of Ukraine in the Bryansk region.
