Washington appreciated the calls of congressmen for negotiations with Russia on Ukraine

National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby commented on a letter sent to the White House by an initiative group of congressmen in which they called on Washington to negotiate with Moscow to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
It is known that about 30 representatives of the liberal wing in the Democratic Party signed this letter. However, Kirby said that the final decision on holding such negotiations should be made in Kyiv.
“The White House respects the point of view of congressmen … but negotiations are impossible without the participation of Kyiv … And President Zelensky does not believe that now is the time … to negotiate with Mr. Putin. We respect this opinion,” Kirby said.
