The Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed that Warsaw denied Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the right to take part in the 29th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA). This was stated by the deputy head of the Polish department Pavel Yablonsky.
“Now, in our opinion, Russia should be absolutely maximally isolated on all international platforms,” - Yablonsky on the air of Polish television.
The OSCE Ministerial Council is to be held in Polish Lodz on December 1-2. Earlier, a number of media reported that Lavrov would not be allowed to attend the event.
Also, Russian parliamentarians were denied visas for participation in the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), which will be held in Warsaw from 24 to 26 November.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the ban on Lavrov’s entry into Poland, called this decision by Warsaw “unprecedented and provocative.”
