The mayor of the seaside town of Bolshoy Kamen, Rustyam Abushaev, who was put on the wanted list in a criminal case and allegedly left for the NVO, received a military award.
How declared RIA Novosti commander of the Primorye volunteer detachment “Tiger”, Abushaev “participated in the evacuation of the wounded and killed” and “was presented to the Order of Courage after the discovery, demining and delivery of samples of weapons to NATO.” Also, according to the RIA speaker, Abushaev was awarded a medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the second degree with swords – the award was given “for the effective organization of defense.”
In March of this year, it became known that the mayor of Bolshoy Kamen was put on the federal wanted list on charges of land fraud and illegal business. The incriminated acts refer to the period of time when Abushaev was in his previous position – he previously headed the Nadezhda district. A few days after the appearance of publications in the media about the search for the mayor, anonymous statements were published in the press, which claimed that the official had signed up to volunteer. In April, Abushaev published a video on his Telegram channel: he is in camouflage and with a machine gun in his hands, declaring that he is in the NVO. The next post appeared on August 16, in which Abushaev thanks Primorye schoolchildren for letters of support.
On August 11, the district court of Vladivostok satisfied the complaint of the mayor’s lawyer and ruled that the investigation should “eliminate the committed violation” and stop the search for Abushaev in connection with his transfer to the NVO zone, transmitted TASS.
