The relationship between China and Russia is “strong as a rock” and will stand the test of a changing international situation. This statement was made by the head of the office of the foreign affairs commission of the CPC Central Committee, Wang Yi, at a meeting with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev on Tuesday, February 21.
“Chinese-Russian relations are mature and strong as a rock, and will withstand the test of the changing international situation,” said Wang Yi (quoted by RIA Novosti).
In his opinion, now Russia and China have good opportunities to continue strategic cooperation and contacts in defense of common strategic interests.
“We are ready, together with the Russian side, to … resolutely defend national interests and dignity, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas,” Wang Yi said.
Back in December 2022 Wang Yi declaredthat relations between China and Russia are as strong as a monolith. He noted that they are not subject to interference and provocations. According to him, cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation is not antagonistic and is not aimed at any third party, and Moscow and Beijing “firmly oppose hegemony and oppose the new cold war.” Also in March last year, Wang Yi saidthat the relations between the two countries have withstood new tests of changes in the world situation and have shown a firm trend of development.
