Walla: Israel agreed to sell Merkava tanks to one of the European countries with further resale
The Walla publication, referring to Polish military experts, writes that Israel will sell Merkava Mark 2 and 3 tanks to one of the European countries – with further resale to Poland and Ukraine. Allegedly, Tel Aviv did this under pressure from the United States.
The Merkava is a combat tank designed and manufactured in Israel. The first serial tank “Merkava Mk.1” was produced in 1979.
At the same time, the Israeli edition of Axios refutes the agreement on the deal. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant told Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin that the country would not provide lethal weapons to Ukraine, sources said.
At the same time, Axios reports: Galant, at the request of Austin, will soon hold telephone conversations with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov.
Israeli Foreign Minister Cohen said earlier that his country morally supports Ukraine, but will not supply weapons to Kyiv.
