Kommersant Style tells about the most famous roles of Cillian Murphy: from Oppenheimer to Peaky Blinders.
On July 21, Christopher Nolan’s drama Oppenheimer was released, in which Irish actor Cillian Murphy played the main role. His portrayal of Julius Robert Oppenheimer, the creator of the atomic bomb, caused a significant response and critical acclaim, the film was received so well that at least several Oscar nominations are predicted, and at most – the victory of the protagonist. Murphy is 47 years old, of which 25 he starred in very diverse films and series, took part in television and theater projects. It is interesting to trace his path, which for him, like for many actors, began from the stage. In 1996, he made his debut in the play Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh, and a few years later it was made into a feature film starring Murphy. He began working with director Christopher Nolan in 2005 on the set of Batman Begins, and it was then that their long-term friendship was born. From the early years of his career, Murphy has been recognized by the public, he is known for his special dramatic delivery of roles, whether it is a shell-shocked soldier in “Dunkirk” or crime boss Thomas Shelby.
