The fighters of the private military company Wagner left Rostov, said the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev in the Telegram channel.
“The column of PMC Wagner left Rostov and headed to their field camps,” the report says. Earlier it was reported that Wagner tanks were taken out of Rostov, accompanied by cars with special signals.
The head of the region also thanked everyone who, for the period of work in “extraordinary conditions”, made efforts to ensure appropriate work in the Rostov region.
On Saturday evening, it became known that the founder of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and his fighters left the headquarters of the Southern Military District in full force after the situation was resolved. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation, thanked his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko for the work done to resolve the situation around the Wagner PMC. Prigozhin, after negotiations with Lukashenka, announced his refusal to move on to Moscow and began to return Wagner fighters to field camps. It is known that Prigogine was offered a compromise solution to the issue, which made it possible to resolve the conflict points.
Dmitry Peskov reported that the criminal case of an armed rebellion against the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin would be dropped. He also noted that the situation around PMC “Wagner” will not affect the course of the NMD. Prigozhin himself will leave for Belarus.
The criminal case against Prigozhin became known last night. Under article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on organizing an armed rebellion, he was threatened with 12 to 20 years in prison.
