Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confessed his love to the Serbian Progressive Party (SPP) and declared that he would never leave it. About this he wrote on Twitter.
“I love the Serbian Progressive Party and will never, as long as I live, leave it. It never crosses my mind to part with you. And many more joint victories await us, long live the SPP, and long live our Serbia,” the president wrote.
Vucic announced his resignation as chairman of the party on Friday, May 26, speaking at a rally in support of the country’s government. The President announced this decision on May 14.
Post leader of the SPP took Acting Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister Milos Vucevic. “From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a big thank you to the former chairman of the SPP, Aleksandar Vučić, for 11 years of brilliant leadership of our party,” the minister said.
The SPP was established in 2008 by Vučić and former Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic. The current president took over as chairman in 2012 and was elected head of state from the SPP in 2017 and 2022.
