Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic scheduled a meeting with representatives of various countries to discuss the aggravation of the situation in northern Kosovo and Metohija. Meetings are planned with representatives of Quinta (USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy), as well as ambassadors from Russia and China.
Last week, in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, there were clashes between the police of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo and local residents on the other side. More than 50 Serbs and more than 40 KFOR fighters were injured in these clashes.
In an address to citizens on Monday evening, Vučić said he intends to ask the Quinta countries to act on the situation and ensure peace in the region. The Serbian side believes that the KFOR mission failed to fulfill its obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 1244, including ensuring security and order.
In addition to meeting with representatives of Quinta, the Serbian President also plans to meet with the ambassadors of Russia and China to discuss the aggravation of the situation in the region.
