Vučić: Serbia avoided ‘disaster with NATO’ in Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters that the country managed to avoid a full-scale conflict in Kosovo, which would lead to a “catastrophe” in the confrontation with NATO.
“Tonight I will talk about the details of why we managed to avoid a catastrophe this time, why the Pristina authorities did not come to the north. But we would have had a catastrophe with NATO, we managed to avoid it at this moment,” Vucic said.
On December 26, the authorities of the unrecognized state of Kosovo, after a long confrontation with civilians from the Serb population of the province, put their armed forces on alert. Belgrade, in turn, in pursuance of Vučić’s order, did the same. However, on December 28, the situation still managed to stabilize.
