Serbia’s position on sanctions against Russia will not change, President Aleksandar Vučić said.
Vučić commented on the declaration following the EU-Western Balkans summit. The document says that all participants need to support the sanctions. Croatian Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic noted that Serbia should sign this declaration as an EU candidate country.
Vučić said that Serbia is the only country that has not agreed with the policy of sanctions.
“I cannot be responsible for this declaration, because I did not write it. But we have nothing against them writing down the fact that we did not agree on sanctions and did not impose them,” he said at a briefing.
He also said that the sanctions “do not bring anything good to the people”, Serbia knows about this and will not support this policy.
