Vučić denies accusations of arms sales to Russia and Ukraine

Serbia has not sold a single piece of weapons or ammunition to either Ukraine or Russia, President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić said during a visit to Qatar, transmits RTS. At the same time, the head of state announced new investments in the defense industry.

“We have not sold a single piece of weapons, tools or ammunition to Russia or Ukraine. We have authorized end users and we only export to them,” Vučić said.

Commenting on allegations that Belgrade supplies weapons through Turkey, Vucic explained that deals with this country are protected by its obligation not to export such products without the consent of Serbia.

“We are clean as a tear. And we want to make money. I am proud that we will earn more money,” he said, adding that in Serbia “there are those who falsely condemn their country.”

Earlier, the Telegram channel Mash announced the supply of Serbian missiles to Kyiv. According to the resource, we are talking about 3500 ammunition for the Grad MLRS, which the Canadian company JNJ Export Import ordered from the Serbian Krušik. Mash claims that the missiles were first sent from Serbia to Turkey, then they were delivered to Slovakia, from where the ammunition ended up in Ukraine.

After that, Russia asked Serbia for an official position on information about the supply of Serbian ammunition to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 2. At the same time, on February 27, Krušik itself denied information about any deliveries. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Ivica Dacic said that Serbia does not supply neither Ukraine nor Russia allowed such supplies of weapons and military equipment.

Earlier, President Vucic promised that all citizens of the country who take or will take part in the hostilities in Ukraine “will be arrested” as soon as they are “within reach” of the country’s law enforcement agencies. Since the beginning of the year, the authorities of the republic, which have been facing demands to investigate the recruitment of Serbian fighters in the Wagner PMC, have lost interest in this organization.
