Vucic claims hundreds of daily death threats against him

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic receives about 200 death threats daily. This was stated by Vučić himself to reporters.
The President commented on the protest rally, at which a “hung” doll with his image appeared. “I am the President of the Republic, and my job is to endure even death threats. <...> Every day I receive more than 200 death threats. When you are president, you have to learn to put up with it,” said the Serbian president (quote by Pink TV).
He made such a statement to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of the republic. Vučić praised the work of Interior Minister Bratislav Gašić, in which, according to him, everything works “like a Swiss watch.”
Opposition protests took place yesterday, June 3. The demonstrators oppose the policies of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP). The official number of people participating in the protests is unknown; opposition politicians, some actors and TV presenters took part in the procession itself.
On May 26, Vucic announced his resignation as chairman of the SPP, his post took Acting Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister Milos Vucevic. After his appointment, the minister thanked Vučić “for 11 years of brilliant leadership of our party”. The president himself later confessed in love with his party and assured that he would never leave it.
“I love the Serbian Progressive Party and will never, as long as I live, leave it. It never crosses my mind to part with you. And many more joint victories await us, long live the SPP and long live our Serbia!” the President said on May 27.
