VTsIOM: 74.8% of Russians approve of Putin’s activities

The activities of Russian President Vladimir Putin are approved by 74.8% of the country’s inhabitants. About it testify results of the VTsIOM poll from 19 to 25 June. The study involved 1,600 people across Russia over the age of 18, the average value for seven days of the survey is given.

The level of approval of the activities of the head of state decreased by 1.3 percentage points (p.p.) over the week. From June 12 to June 18, 76.1% of Russian citizens were satisfied with Putin’s work. The level of confidence in the president over the past week also fell to 78.6% (by 0.3 percentage points).

The activities of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin are approved by 51.7% of Russians (-1.6 percentage points for the week). The level of confidence in the prime minister fell over the week by 0.9 percentage points, to 60.9%. 50.1% of the country’s residents are satisfied with the work of the Cabinet of Ministers (-0.6 percentage points), according to the results of the survey.

In addition, in a week fewer Russians began to trust all faction leaders. The level of trust in the chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov decreased to 31.3% (4.4 p.p.), in the head of A Just Russia – For Truth Sergei Mironov – to 31.6% (-1 p.p.), to the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky – up to 16.4% (-2 p.p.), to the head of the “New People” Alexei Nechaev – up to 7.6% (-1.3 p.p.).

In the event of elections to the State Duma next Sunday, the majority of Russians would vote for United Russia – 37.9%, at the same time, VTsIOM records a decrease in support by 1.4 percentage points over the week. Despite the drop in the level of confidence in the leader of the Communist Party, 10.4% of Russians are ready to vote for the party, which is 0.4 percentage points more than a week earlier. Support for the Liberal Democratic Party also increased to 9.2% (+0.6 p.p.).

At the same time, A Just Russia – For Truth and New People became less popular. If the elections were held next weekend, then 5.6% (-0.2 percentage points) and 4.3% (-0.1 percentage points), respectively, would vote for them.

On June 24, under the pretext of an alleged strike by the Russian Ministry of Defense on the rear camps of PMC Wagner, the founder of the company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, attempted a military mutiny.
