VTB predicts an increase in the key rate of the Central Bank of Russia by another 100 points, to 16% in December. First Deputy Chairman of the Board of VTB Dmitry Pyanov announced this “RIA News” at the VTB forum “Russia Calling!”
“We expect that on December 15 there will be another rise in the key rate – by 100 basis points. This will change the incoming key rate in 2024,” said Mr. Pyanov.
At the end of October, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank raised the key rate by 200 basis points, to 15% per annum. Overall, it has doubled since July. Head of the regulator Elvira Nabiullina admittedthat the rate could be increased again before the end of the year.
