Volunteer of the “Bars” detachment told what helped to contain the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The first wave of the Ukrainian offensive is over. Now the enemy has rolled back to the initial lines in almost all areas, and the fighting in the direction of the main attack is no longer being resumed with the same intensity as in the first days. But there is no reason to relax.

The MK correspondent visited the positions of the Bars volunteer detachment, which met the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the hottest point of the front, and found out what enemy tactics the Bars faced for the first time during their participation in the NVO, and also how memory helps our defenders in battles about ancestors.

Recalling the attempted breakthrough by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the “leopards” say that on that day the enemy “abandoned” everything he had. And tanks, including German Leopards, and American Bradley fighting vehicles, and specially trained infantry. And all this under incessant artillery fire. In the tactics of warfare, new moments were also traced.

– The tactics were generally unique, – one of the fighters admits to me. – Start a breakthrough at one o’clock in the afternoon … We have never seen anything like this in the entire time of the special operation.

Despite the fact that the time of the beginning of the attack of the fighters was surprising, but this did not affect the readiness of our volunteers. The guys admit that they prepared in advance. Worked out different options for the development of events.

– Our management is very competent. We even knew where they would come from. The commanders brought this information to the company commanders, who, in turn, to the platoon commanders, the platoon commanders to the soldiers. In general, everything was clear.

When asked to give examples of the heroic behavior of fighters, the volunteer replies that, with all his desire, he cannot single out one person. All the guys behaved like heroes, even those who were initially difficult to think of. There was even a case when one of the volunteers had to take the place of a retired machine gunner.

– Have you done it? You are not a machine gunner, – I turn to a young man modestly standing aside.

I had to work, that’s all. There was such a moment: there is no machine gunner, but the machine gun needs to work. Just silently took a position, that’s all.

The fighters say that for the entire time they were on the front line, with such dense fire from the enemy, as on that day, they encountered for the first time. However, despite all the efforts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not inflict any critical damage on our defense.

Now the enemy has calmed down a bit, but the military themselves say that, most likely, this is a temporary lull. There will still be attempts, so no one relaxes and does not lose their fighting spirit.

“The main thing is that we are all ready to defend our Motherland,” the interlocutor continues. – I will say this: Motherland in our understanding from the word “kind”. And these are your relatives, relatives, friends, neighbors. Now the NATO people have come here and think that they will break us. But they forgot how a Russian person differs from everyone else. When I say “Russian”, I do not mean only those who are Russian by nationality. Abkhazians, Armenians, and Georgians are fighting in our unit. But we are all Russians, because we once lived in a huge common country called the USSR. Remember the phrase from the film “28 Panfilov”: “When we defend Kazakhstan, we will be Kazakhs, but now you are Russian.” Here we are now – all Russians. Europe does not take into account the strength of the Russian spirit. Yes, you can kill people, but you can’t kill a spirit.

According to the volunteer, here, in the NWO zone, he noticed one interesting fact. When everything was just beginning, there were those who overestimated themselves, their capabilities, someone left, unable to stand it physically or mentally. But this year everything has changed. Now the more active the enemy, the stronger our fighters are spiritually.

– You can’t deceive history – the Russians always won, even when there were few of us left. So it will be this time.

New recruits are constantly coming to the squadron. Contrary to the whining of pessimists, more and more people consciously want to stand up for their country. And this, according to the fighters, is a very positive trend.

Training in the unit is ongoing: firing practice, tactics, grenade throwing, medicine, psychological training … Everything that can come in handy. After some time, the fighters go to the forefront, where they continue to work and train continuously.

– In order for a person to be able to fight normally, he must go through everything, – the interlocutor explains. – From a shovel to a firing line.

– You say that all the guys in your unit are real heroes. Everything, absolutely?

“That’s a fact,” the military man replies with conviction. – And mutual assistance with neighbors is well-established, we always help each other. Otherwise, it’s impossible. People have become stronger morally, now everyone understands why they are here.

And we also had an interesting moment. On May 9, we decided to hold our “Immortal Regiment”, right on the positions. They put up photos of their grandfathers, some of their great-grandfathers. I remember then I said: “Now we are not one company, but two.” Once our ancestors fought here, and now here we are. Some of the photographs still stand to this day. And you know, it helps. It’s like the support is coming from somewhere.
