State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin accused Washington of forcing European countries to finance the Ukrainian conflict.
On his Telegram channel, Volodin wrote on Sunday that Washington has once again shown its basic political principle – “to use other countries to achieve its interests.”
Volodin believes that “the United States is forcing the states of Europe to finance the Kiev regime at the cost of the well-being of their own citizens.”
At the same time, the Russian politician added that the United States, “as it turns out, bear the costs much less than others.”
According to the data provided, the United States spends 0.37% of GDP on supporting the Kyiv regime and is in 12th place. In first place is Poland, which spends 2.10% of its GDP. It is followed by Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Malta, Norway, Romania and Cyprus.
As Volodin noted, the EU countries also “incur additional costs due to anti-Russian sanctions that hit their economies like a boomerang.” 570 billion euros were spent to support the energy industry in Europe, in particular, it cost Germany 7.2% of GDP.
At the same time, Washington has repeatedly accused the countries of Europe of paying too little in comparison with the multibillion-dollar assistance to Ukraine from the United States.
