Volodin urged to investigate the murders of Red Army soldiers in Poland

More than 30,000 Soviet soldiers and officers were shot and tortured in Poland during the leadership of the country by Jozef Pilsudski, these crimes must be investigated, said Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.

“It is necessary that the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General’s Office conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of the death of our soldiers and officers. Poland must be held accountable for the murders and torture of prisoners of war of the Red Army,” declared Volodin in his Telegram channel.

The speaker of the State Duma said that in 1919-1921 people died because of “constant hunger, cold and disease”, and the Polish prison camps were “the same as the Nazi ones.” The current leadership of Poland professes the ideology of the dictator Pilsudski, whose policy was based on hatred of Russia, Volodin believes. According to him, Warsaw refuses to investigate these crimes and “denies the existence of death camps in the country and the extermination of captured soldiers of the Red Army.”

On 10 May, in an op-ed for The Telegraph, the Polish Prime Minister stated that “Russia’s monstrous ideology must be defeated.” The Russkiy Mir, he said, is “a cancer that poses a deadly threat to all of Europe.”
