Volodin: The State Duma will appeal to the UN regarding Hersh’s investigation into Nord Stream

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said today during a plenary session that the chamber plans to prepare an appeal to the UN in order to hold accountable those who organized the explosions at Nord Stream.
“Let the UN deal with and think about how to bring to the tribunal and judge both Biden and those who unleashed the war, who blow up gas pipelines and infrastructure,” Volodin specified.
He expressed the opinion that it would be “correct” for the UN to assess the actions of the US leadership, while the Russian side, in turn, should insist on such an assessment.
The reason to raise the issue of applying to the UN was the publication of the American investigative journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh about the active participation in organizing explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipeline lines of the US Navy and Norway. According to Hersh, maneuvers during the NATO exercise Baltops in the summer of 2022 were used to cover the action. At the same time, according to the author, President Biden’s decision to destroy the Russian gas pipeline was not spontaneous; representatives of the US military and intelligence agencies took part in the months-long discussion of this issue.
