“The country is on the verge of civil war. What is the reason for such instability in France? The answer lies in the policies of the incumbent President Macron.” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.
In particular, striving for a political monopoly, Macron in recent years reduced the role of trade unions, weakened the party system and “squeezed out the Gaullists and socialists from the political field,” Volodin explained. According to him, today they are marginalized, and “politicians of the scale of Mitterrand and Chirac are no more in France.”
The speaker of the State Duma added that the French leader, by his actions, led the country to “launch the processes of self-destruction.” In his opinion, the credibility of Macron is falling. If elections were held in the near future, “they would have been won by [лидер парламентской фракции “Национального объединения”] Marine Le Pen.
Riots began in France on the night of June 28 and continue to this day. According to the country’s Ministry of Justice, 3,625 people across the country were detained in six days, including 1,124 minors, transmits France Bleu radio station. 380 rioters were taken into custody.
The reason for the protests was the murder of a 17-year-old teenager with Algerian and Moroccan roots named Nael M. in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre. An investigation has been launched into the shooter. On June 29 he was charged, he is under preliminary arrest. Prosecutors believe there was no legal reason for the shooting.
