Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin expressed gratitude to Valery Stavitsky, an employee of the apparatus of the Russian parliament, who participated in a fight with a representative of Ukraine at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Ankara. In addition, gratitude was announced to the head of the Russian delegation in Ankara, deputy Olga Timofeeva.
Last week, a video appeared on social networks in which a representative of the Ukrainian delegation, Alexander Marikovsky, unfurls a blue and yellow flag behind Olga Timofeeva, who is talking on the phone. After that, Valery Stavitsky snatched the flag from the hands of Alexander Marikovsky and tried to leave. However, the Ukrainian deputy caught up with him, took the flag and struck him several blows.
According to Vyacheslav Volodin, thanks to Valery Stavitsky and Olga Timofeeva were awarded “for their professionalism in upholding Russia’s position in the PABSEC.” “Our colleagues faced a provocation by representatives of the Kyiv regime. Such antics are unacceptable,” said Vyacheslav Volodin, his words from the briefing are quoted by RIA Novosti. “At the same time, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, unfortunately, becomes a hostage to the destructive policies of Washington and Brussels,” he added.
As reported on May 4, the agency Anadolu, during the meeting of the assembly, another conflict occurred between the Ukrainian and Russian deputies: during the speech of Olga Timofeeva, the Ukrainian delegation unfurled behind her the flag of the ultra-nationalist organization “Right Sector” (recognized as extremist in Russia and banned). However, the picture of Anadolu does not show the Right Sector flag, but a blue and yellow flag.
