In his Telegram channel, Volodin wrote that the publication is dedicated to “the sufferers who left their homeland.”
“Western countries first took away yachts, villas, cars and planes from Russian businessmen. Now they are being arrested. In this regard, I would like to recall what our President Vladimir Putin said, that everyone who keeps assets and money abroad will be tormented by “swallowing dust” trying to return these funds, ”said the speaker of the State Duma.
According to him, the president’s words spoken 20 years ago turned out to be prophetic. Volodin also urged businessmen to develop Russia and “remember: they were born here, they were able to realize themselves, everyone is obliged to her.”
“It is necessary to do everything to make life in it better. Then not only the money will be intact, but the conscience will be cleaner, ”he is convinced.
A day earlier, the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) announced the arrest of a 58-year-old Russian businessman on suspicion of committing a number of crimes, including on suspicion of money laundering. The NCA clarified that he was detained on December 1 at his “multi-million dollar residence” in London. In addition to money laundering, he is suspected of conspiracy to deceive the Ministry of Internal Affairs and give false testimony.
It has been suggested that this is the co-founder of Alfa Group, Mikhail Fridman, who lives in London. RBC reported that the company denied this information.
