Volodin announced that Zelensky had caused damage to the history, language and culture of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has caused irreparable damage to the country in matters of history, language, faith, culture and traditions, the country is losing sovereignty, said Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.

“A country loses its sovereignty if it abandons its history, language, faith, culture and traditions. Zelensky inflicted irreparable damage on Ukraine in these matters,” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

In particular, according to Volodin, the authorities in Kyiv made “the Nazis Bandera, Shukhevych and other criminals heroes,” and Zelensky announced May 9 as Europe Day. In addition, the Russian language is banned in Ukraine, Russian language and literature textbooks are confiscated, and Russian writers are excluded from the educational program, the speaker of the State Duma lists. He also pointed to the “persecution” of the canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine and the President’s proposal to postpone the celebration of Christmas from January 7 to December 25.

“The institution of the family is being destroyed. The largest Ukrainian companies and official state resources are actively participating in the so-called “Pride month”: they “decorate” their pages with LGBT symbols,” Volodin added.

In his opinion, this list can be continued, and “the final result for Ukrainians is deplorable”: last year, the country’s GDP fell by 29.1%, the population decreased by 23%.

In May, Volodin said that Kyiv would not allow negotiations to be launched until the decision was made by the US authorities. According to him, Ukraine “does not exist as a state” and the country’s territory is now “a testing ground for weapons supplied by all NATO countries.”
