State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said at a plenary session that in the second reading, bills banning LGBT propaganda could be introduced more stringent norms than administrative fines. According to him, 65% of those who voted in the poll of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper are in favor of introducing criminal penalties for LGBT propaganda.
“There is something to work on for the second reading. We must do everything to protect our children and those who want to live a normal life. Everything else is sin, sodomy, darkness,” said Mr. Volodin (quoted from “Interfax”).
Earlier today, the State Duma in the first reading unanimously accepted bill to ban propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations in Russia. Under the bill, propaganda is not allowed among citizens of all ages. Fines from 200 to 800 thousand rubles are provided.
