Volodin accused Warsaw of supplying weapons to Kyiv for new crimes

The weapons that Kiev receives from Warsaw “for new crimes” are a sign that Poland has betrayed the memory of the victims of the Volhynia massacre, in which several thousand Poles were killed. About it informed State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

“And Warsaw, betraying the memory of the victims of the Volyn tragedy, supplies the Kiev regime with regular batches of weapons for new crimes. <...> From their side [руководства Польши] this is more than a betrayal of one’s own people,” he wrote.

Volodin recalled that July 11 is the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Volyn massacre, as a result of which, in the period from 1943 to 1944. in order to expel the Polish population from Volhynia, “tens of thousands of people were brutally killed.”

According to Volodin, all the killings were committed by members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and its military arm, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (OUN-UPA, banned in Russia). Now in Kyiv, those responsible for these crimes are elevated to heroes, Volodin added. “Instead of recognizing the actions of Bandera as a genocide of the Polish population, he erects monuments to them, defends and promotes their ideology,” he wrote.

After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to provide financial assistance to Ukraine and supply it with military equipment and weapons. The Russian side has repeatedly criticized the supply of weapons to Kyiv. The authorities also noted that Western countries thus become a party to the conflict. At the end of May, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that military support for Kyiv from the West cannot affect the outcome of the special operation, it only delays the hostilities.
