The armed forces of Ukraine do not take their dead from the battlefield, military correspondent Alexander Yaremchuk wrote in his telegram channel.
“The Ukrainian side does not take away its “valiant warriors of the wild forces,” be they volunteers or forcibly mobilized,” he wrote, noting that the exception is foreign mercenaries, including from the Baltic states and Georgia.
“The abandoned corpses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Soledar direction cannot be counted. The smell of bodies rotting in the heat cannot be described in words,” he wrote.
The military correspondent noted that Russian units are trying to take away enemy corpses – both for epidemiological reasons and for reasons of simple human conscience – however, the Ukrainian Armed Forces complicate the work of evacuation groups by striking with artillery and fpv drones.
