Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo suspended operations amid a drone attack

Moscow airports Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo temporarily did not accept or release aircraft, as follows from the online scoreboard data. More than 20 flights were delayed or cancelled. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin earlier reported about the destruction of a drone in the Istra urban district that was flying towards Moscow.
Eight flights to Vnukovo were delayed, two were cancelled, to Sheremetyevo – six and one, respectively, according to data from the Yandex.Schedules service. Four more flights were delayed at Domodedovo, two were cancelled.
On the night of October 7, flights will also were detained or canceled amid reports of bad weather. Forecasters predicted a drop in air temperature to -2°C, and icy conditions were expected. From 9:00 Saturday until the end of the day, heavy rain and snow are forecast, with wind gusts reaching 21 m/s. City services are working in enhanced mode. Moscow authorities decided to carry out the first de-icing treatment of roads this season.
