Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian-Kazakh relations are at a high level. He announced this in a congratulatory telegram sent to the leader of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the occasion of Republic Day. Text published press service of the President of the Republic.
In his message, Putin noted that Kazakhstan is “confidently moving along the path of socio-economic development”, is making its contribution to solving international problems, and also “enjoys well-deserved authority on the world stage.”
“I am confident that further strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance, increasing constructive interaction within the CIS, EurAsEC, CSTO and SCO meets the fundamental interests of our peoples,” the telegram says.
Putin and Tokayev met in Beijing at the “One Belt, One Road” forum on October 17, and before that at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Bishkek on October 13. In his speech, Tokayev spoke out against economic sanctions, “which have the most disastrous negative impact on global trade and the well-being of states.” Previously, the Kazakh authorities have repeatedly statedthat they comply with Western sanctions against Russia.
