Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the term of the first contract for military service with foreigners will be one year. Previously, such contracts were concluded for a period of five years. The decree was published on the official Internet portal legal information.
According to the document, the decree applies to all contracts of foreign citizens entering military service, for which the military rank of soldier, sailor, sergeant, foreman is provided.
September 24, 2022 Vladimir Putin signed a law simplifying the acquisition of citizenship by foreigners who serve in the Russian army. At the same time, the amendments suggested that the first contract could be concluded for one year, and not for five years.
