Viacheslav Volodin discusses the effectiveness of the work of the Duma committees for the fourth day

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin began the plenary session on March 2 by expressing gratitude to the chairmen and chiefs of staff of ten State Duma committees for their efficient work. Four deputies and an interlocutor in the State Duma told Vedomosti about this. The speaker spoke on this topic in a closed mode for journalists. For the fourth day he has been discussing with the deputies the effectiveness of the work of the State Duma committees.

After that, the speaker met separately with the chairmen of the ten committees, whose work he found effective. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma. Volodin thanked them for their efficient work. “It is necessary to do everything to resolve the issues that our citizens are waiting for. Red tape and mistakes in the preparation of bills are unacceptable. We are also talking about the openness of the legislative process, so that citizens, experts, public organizations participate in the discussion and express their point of view. We plan to sum up the monitoring results on a monthly basis. Based on the results of the year, the activities of committee chairmen and heads of staff will be evaluated,” Volodin said.

Volodin expressed gratitude to the chairmen of ten committees: Dmitry Svishchev (Sports Committee), Sergei Gavrilov (Property Committee), Yaroslav Nilov (Labor Committee), Alexei Didenko (Regional Policy Committee), Pavel Zavalny (Energy Committee), Andrey Kartapolov (defence committee), Dmitry Kobylin (ecology committee), Vasily Piskarev (security committee), Elena Yampolskaya (culture committee) and Oleg Morozov (control committee). The heads of the apparatuses of these committees also received thanks.

Volodin also said that “the nine relevant committees with the largest number of bills “without movement” need to” do the work so that, in accordance with the established procedures and regulations, the initiatives are prepared for consideration. The term for correction is one month. Vedomosti, citing an interlocutor in the State Duma apparatus, wrote on the eve that among these committees are the committee on state construction, on economic policy, on transport, on health protection, on education, on the development of civil society, on international affairs, on the development of the Far East and on tourism .

On February 27 and March 1, Volodin discussed the effectiveness of the work of State Duma committees at the Council of the State Duma, as well as at plenary sessions on February 28 and March 1. The speaker, in particular, said that he would deprive the heads of the apparatuses of the Duma committees of their bonuses for bills that were hanging in their hands. After that, he said that in addition to the deprivation of bonuses, there will be incentives for those who work effectively.
