Turkish TV channel TRT Haber: Vessel inspections on grain deal resumed
Vessel inspections under the “grain deal” have resumed, Turkish state television channel TRT Haber reported, citing information from the country’s defense ministry.
In the previous two days – Sunday and Monday – searches were not carried out. The UN previously reported that in May the number of inspections of vessels participating in the initiative fell to an average of 2.9 per day. In April, for example, the figure was four inspections per day.
The channel’s sources in the Turkish Defense Ministry said that the inspections had resumed and the “grain corridor” had been restarted as a result of Turkish initiatives.
