The interim government, created by the opposition in Venezuela, was liquidated a few days earlier by the National Assembly of the Venezuelan opposition. Now opposition leader Juan Guaido has also resigned as speaker of parliament.
Previously, Guaido was a symbol of opposition to the Venezuelan pro-American opposition to President Nicolas Maduro, who inherits the political line of the late head of state Hugo Chavez. Guaido enjoyed comprehensive informational and organizational support from the United States and Europe.
Now Guaido has resigned, and Dinora Figarea has become the chairman of the opposition National Assembly. The opposition assembly exists in parallel with the official National Assembly of Venezuela.
