Vedomosti: gas production in Russia fell by 11% in January

In January 2023, natural gas production in Russia decreased by 10.7% year-on-year to 62.7 billion cubic meters. m. This is reported by the newspaper Vedomosti with reference to sources familiar with the statistics of the Ministry of Energy.
The bulk of the decline (at about -18.4%) fell on Gazprom. In January 2023, the company produced 40.7 bcm. m (for the same period in 2022 – 49.9 billion cubic meters). The company has not yet published statistics on the extraction of the resource.
For January-December 2022 Russia reduced gas production by 13.3% yoy. As follows from the data of Rosstat, the figure was 522 billion cubic meters. m. At the same time, as informed Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak, Russia’s revenues from the sale of oil and gas increased by almost a third over the year.
