Vasily Maguryan leaves VK Play – Kommersant

According to a Kommersant source in the video game development market, in the near future the head of VK.Play (a digital video game distribution platform) Vasily Maguryan will leave his position and leave the company. This is confirmed by Kommersant’s interlocutor in one of VK’s gaming divisions: “He has completed the main stage of platform construction and intends to consider opportunities to take up his own projects in the gaming industry.” Before VK.Play, Vasily Maguryan headed the gaming direction of VK for more than eight years as General Director of My.Games, before that he worked at the IT-Territory company.
The source clarifies that VK is now considering candidates to replace Mr. Maguryan “within the VK.Play team and on the external market.” According to him, the project team will continue to develop VK.Play in full force. Kommersant’s interlocutor in the video game development market says that VK.Play will be headed by Alexander Mikheev, who holds the position of product director at VK.Play. Messrs. Maguryan and Mikheev declined to comment, and the VK press service did the same.
