In June 2023, an agreement was concluded on gas supplies from Russia to Uzbekistan. Before this, the country produced it independently and then exported it to China and Russia. Deliveries to Uzbekistan began in October 2023, the daily volume amounted to 9 million cubic meters. m, annual – 2.8 billion cubic meters. m.

Last December, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, said that supplies to Uzbekistan were doubled compared to the values ​​​​specified in the contract. According to him, the country received “the maximum technically possible volume of gas that can be supplied through the gas pipeline.” In November of the same year, Mr. Miller stated that Gazprom was planning to sign gas supply and transit agreements with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for 15 years by mid-2024. Gas supplies to Uzbekistan occur via the Central Asia – Center gas pipeline.
