Uzbekistan started importing AI-80 gasoline from Russia, write “RIA Novosti” with reference to the Uzbek company “Uzbekneftegaz”.
“We have started importing AI-80 gasoline from Russia. Over the weekend, it began to be sold on the domestic market,” said a representative of Uzbekneftegaz.
According to him, gasoline is supplied to 69 gas stations of the company throughout Uzbekistan. Among the suppliersTatneft”, Gazpromneft and a number of private structures. As a result of severe cold weather and restrictions on the operation of automobile gas filling stations, the demand for AI-80 has increased. Because of this, as the company explained, Uzbekneftegaz began to import gasoline.
As the agency notes, in Uzbekistan, since 2018, due to a decrease in gas supplies in winter, they began to introduce temporary restrictions on the operation of gas filling stations in order to ensure a stable supply of energy resources to the population, schools, hospitals, large power plants, and preschool institutions.
The total capacity of the country’s refineries is approximately 10 million tons, which are currently not fully loaded, the agency writes. Over the past few years, acute shortages of gasoline, as well as other types of petroleum products, have regularly arisen in Uzbekistan. Oil production in the country for 2022 increased by 1.8% and amounted to 787,800 tons.
