Military intervention in Niger should be a “last resort”. This statement was made during the briefing by the Deputy Head of the Press Service of the US State Department Vedant Patel.
According to him, earlier the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS) made it clear that military intervention should be a last resort. “We agree with that,” Patel said.
The representative of the US State Department noted that American politicians are focused on achieving a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Niger. They want a “peaceful resolution” of the situation.
