US deploys additional air defense systems in the Middle East

The US military is strengthening its presence in the Middle East by deploying batteries of THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile defense systems and additional Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in the region. This was announced by Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.
He emphasized that he could not name the exact location of these systems and their number, but noted that the operation was in full swing. According to him, these measures are aimed at strengthening the protection of American military forces in the region.
The initiative to deploy these systems was approved by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who ordered the process to begin on October 22.
