US citizen killed in fighting in Ukraine

A citizen of the United States died in Ukraine during the fighting, informed Newsweek magazine, citing a representative of the US State Department.
The publication confirmed the death of an American volunteer, but declined to comment further “out of respect for the privacy of the family.” Earlier in the day, Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako in his Telegram channel informedthat the fighters of the volunteer battalion from Primorye “Tiger” destroyed an American mercenary in Ukraine. The head of the region published the passport of a US citizen, but the State Department Newsweek did not confirm the identity of the deceased. “U.S. citizens must leave Ukraine immediately if it is safe to do so, using any commercial or other private ground transportation,” the State Department said.
“At least half a dozen” American citizens have died in Ukraine, according to Newsweek.
