US Chief of Staff Milley says there are three superpowers in the world

There are three superpowers in the world – the United States, China and Russia, General Mark Milley, chairman of the US Army Chiefs of Staff, said during a speech at the National Defense University.

“Now it is becoming more and more obvious that we are indeed in a multipolar international environment, where there are at least three superpowers – the United States, China and Russia,” declared the highest-ranking general in the Pentagon (TASS quote).

According to him, over the next decades the world may face serious crises in connection with the transition to multipolarity. He also recalled that during the Cold War, it was about the confrontation between the two superpowers – the USSR and the USA, then the States remained the only superpower for 10-15 years.
