US allows Israel to sell David’s Sling missile defense system to Finland

The US authorities have approved the sale of the David’s Sling anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system, which was developed by the Israeli company Rafael in cooperation with the Americans, to Finland, the Israeli Defense Ministry said in a statement.

According to the agency, the value of the deal for the sale of the Israeli missile defense system to Finland is estimated at $346 million.
On July 31, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that the policy of the Finnish leadership destroys good neighborly relations with Russia and has a “conscious confrontational course.” He emphasized that the West used Finland during the Second World War, and the Finnish military fought on the side of Nazi Germany. According to him, now far-right groups have become more active in the country, which demand the return of territories lost as a result of the war.
Finland this year became a member of NATO, the country also supported all EU sanctions against Russia, introduced its own restrictions and repeatedly announced the expulsion of employees of Russian diplomatic missions. In addition, Finland supplies Ukraine with weapons and provides it with political support.
