US alarmed China’s ballistic missile submarines

The United States is concerned about the constant patrolling of Chinese submarines in the expanses of the South China Sea

Reuters, citing four military attaches and a number of analysts, reports that the increased presence of China in the South China Sea is of concern to the United States. Adding to this concern is China’s reported use of ballistic missile-equipped submarines in near-constant patrols in the region.

“We want our SSNs (nuclear submarines) to be able to hunt them down, so the additional demands on our military are obvious. But the bottom line here is that information, including about “almost continuous patrolling,” is changing so quickly that we don’t know what else could have changed,” a representative of the U.S. Navy Officer Training School clarified the situation for Reuters.

Speaking further about patrolling the South China Sea, the authors of the material, citing expert opinion, note that China is already using its ballistic missile submarines in much the same way as the United States, Russia, Great Britain and France.

However, experts interviewed by the agency are pleased to note that Chinese submarines are still “too noisy”, which makes it easy to track them.
