NPO Elektromashina (part of Uralvagonzavod) showed at the Army-2023 forum a new shipborne gyro-stabilized remote-controlled combat module (BM) Narwhal. It is designed to destroy surface, coastal targets, sea mines and defend ships and boats from sea and air drones.
The module can be installed on light boats with a displacement of up to 20 tons as a main or auxiliary weapon system. The BM “provides the search for and destruction of lightly armored targets and firepower, the destruction of enemy manpower, the destruction of low-flying air targets,” follows from its description, which is quoted by RIA Novosti.
The main armament of the complex is a 12.7 mm Kord machine gun. “Narwhal” is equipped with a three-plane gyro stabilization of the sighting system and guns, as well as a target tracking machine. The sighting system includes a day camera, a thermal imager and a laser rangefinder. In addition, it is possible to install a weather station, a complex of all-round visibility with a radar with a detection range of up to 600 m and means of defense against high-precision weapons.
