Up to 200 thousand reservists will be called up for military training in Poland in 2024. The local publication Rzeczpospolita reported this on Tuesday, October 31.
According to media reports, reservist exercises can be one-day, short-term (lasting up to 30 days), or long-term (up to 90 days).
It is assumed that not only holders of military specialties, but also representatives of other professions, for example, veterinarians and drivers, may be called upon to participate in the maneuvers.
Until the beginning of November, the Polish army is conducting military exercises “ZUBR-23” near the border with Russia and Belarus. These maneuvers are aimed at increasing the level of security along the eastern border of Poland, the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces emphasized.
This was preceded by a statement by Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak that the strength of the Polish army may exceed 300 thousand military personnel previously announced by Warsaw.
